A messy feud has started between HYBE and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, with HYBE claiming that Min Hee Jin planned a scheme to seize full control of ADOR, the agency housing NewJeans. Min Hee Jin, however, has denied these allegations, sparking internal conflict and public controversy.

Min Hee Jin Confessed Frustration After Sakura & Kim Chaewon Joined Source Music

Min Hee Jin, the CEO of ADOR, expressed dissatisfaction with HYBE.

On April 25, 2024, an emergency press conference was held by Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR, at the Korea Conference Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

HYBE, which held an audit on ADOR after they claimed to have garnered evidence of Min Hee Jin attmepting to seize control of the company, announced the results of its investigation earlier that day. HYBE confirmed evidence of a plan to usurp management rights led by the CEO of ADOR and stated that they plan to submit a criminal complaint to the authorities.

Min Hee Jin denied these and explained the reason for her feud with HYBE, saying, "HYBE needs to reflect. They need to think about what they've done to me."

She then revealed how frustrated she was when Sakura and Kim Chaewon joined HYBE after being scouted. She claims that she was not informed that the two former IZ*ONE members would be joining the company.

Their addition to the Source Music roster angered Min Hee Jin to the point that she wanted to resign, and she informed HYBE she couldn't continue working.

This is because NewJeans was originally meant to be HYBE's first girl group. Member Hyein even turned down casting offers from different countries, but she chose to sign with ADOR so that she could debut with the "first HYBE girl group" title.

However, because Sakura and Kim Chaewon joined Source Music, LE SSERAFIM ended up debuting before NewJeans, which caused the latter to lose out on the aforementioned title.

Min Hee Jin Claims She Was Asked Not to Debut NewJeans Before LE SSERAFIM

Min Hee Jin then adds that HYBE CEO Park Ji Won told her not to debut NewJeans before LE SSERAFIM.

When asked why, Park Ji Won stated that he wanted people to think Min Hee Jin was the mind behind LE SSERAFIM and that the public should be confused between the two. This angered Min Hee Jin, who had already selected the debut line-up of NewJeans and could not give up on their debut.

In the end, Min Hee Jin requested to set up ADOR so that NewJeans could debut as quickly as possible. She then reveals that the reason why NewJeans debuted with zero promotions and teasers is because Park Ji Won banned her from promoting NewJeans' debut so that more attention would be on LE SSERAFIM.
