System Of A Down Tour 2015 To End In October; Serj Tankian Hints New Album After Road Shows

More System Of A Down tour shows for 2015 have been announced that would hit countries in Europe and in North and South America in the coming months.

The rock band has some shows scheduled for April at Inglewood, Calif. on April 6 before they head to Europe from April 10 to 23. SOAD will then play a few songs in Canada from June 18 to 19 before they head south in September to October where they will appear in Rio, Colombia and Mexico City.

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone was able to talk to band frontman Serj Tankian regarding their 2015 tour and a possible new album.

"There has been talk, and we are going to play this tour, come back and we're going to see where we are," Tankian said. "If we have songs that work for System, if I have them and Daron [Malakian, guitar] has them. The openness is there to work together, but we haven't made any particular plans that we can announce."

With no timeline yet as to when the new record would come out, the band vocalist revealed that it may happen after the band finishes with their tour and ensured fans that they would get updates as soon as possible.

"They will be the first to know," he said. "Fans will know before the press knows, I assure you."

Known for their metal hits and political annotations in their lyrics, Tankian revealed that the System Of A Down 2015 tour commemorates 100th year anniversary of the Armenian genocide.

"This is a recommitment and expansion of some of the work that we've been doing with the Armenian genocide for years," Tankian said. "The whole "Souls" concept became a tour, and it's something that we all believe in because we're all children of survivors of the genocide. It's important for the recognition of the genocide as an end result, as well as attaining justice."
