Gotham Season 2 Cast: 'Gotham' TV Series will introduce Mr. Freeze and the Mad Hatter in season 2.

According to Den of Geek, Gotham is going to get a little colder and a little crazier next year as the series introduces Mr. Freeze and the Mad Hatter.

 Gotham showrunner John Stephens told the audience at WonderCon that the series will be bringing back some of the most popular Batman villains. The producer said Victor Fries, AKA Mr. Freeze, Clayface and the Mad Hatter among the slew of villains in the next season.

"We will absolutely see Mr. Freeze. There's no doubt that Victor Fries is going to come up. I feel like with a lot of those characters, we're trying to find the line of how far we can push that level of reality," executive producer John Stephens promised Den of Geek.

The producers also teased about the possibility of a young Joker making his way to the series. The also promised that Edward Nygma will be turning into the Riddler later this year. The Ogre is being played by Heroes' Milo Ventimiglia.

"We always want to walk the fine line of the reality of our world. Walking right up to that line where super-villains live. So there are a lot of characters from Batman lore that fit that bill. People like Victor Freeze - who's a science villain. You can play a lot of his abilities without going into the world of superheroes. Clayface and Mad Hatter are both villains we're going to bring in [as well]. They both have great backstories and great personalities. Clayface especially is a character I want to [explore the origin of]," Stephens said.

WonderCon attendees also were able to see seven minutes of footage from an upcoming episode of Gotham.

"I think there are versions of Killer Croc where he doesn't have to look like a giant crocodile. If you read the version of Croc in Brian Azzarello's Joker, he just looks like a huge guy with a skin condition. So there are ways you can take those characters and make them realistic. But it's a line we have to walk," Stephen said.
