K-drama News: 8 Korean Drama Geniuses We Can't Get Enough Of! Tak Goo, Do Bong Soon, Park Hoon and More!

Korean drama fans are often hooked to the shows they watch because they relate to the plight of the lead characters. It gets even more interesting when they get to live vicariously through the characters who are considered geniuses in their fields because of their special abilities.

With the help of drama experts My Drama List and Soompi, Kpopstarz managed to narrow down the list to 5 most memorable geniuses on the small screen. See if your favorite made the list!

Baker King Tak Goo. Geniuses come in many forms and for Tak Goo (Yoon Shi Yoon), his talent is manifested in creating wonderful flavors through bread and pastries. He is helped along his path to success by his unique sense of smell that helps him in his craft, eventually earning him a place as a prized pupil under a baking legend.

Park Hoon (Doctor Stranger). In most of his roles, Lee Jong Suk has always succeeded in portraying characters who are more than competent at what they do, whether it be as a journalist looking for the truth or a webtoon character come to life. But he takes the cake as Park Hoon, a North Korean refuge whose medical skills and surgical techniques are so flawless than he can even perform surgeries in the dark and detect illnesses without the help of high tech medical devices.

Kim Sam Soon (My Lovely Samsoon). She may be advancing in age with no romantic prospects at the beginning of the series but Sam Soon (Kim Sun Ah) really knows how to sweeten the pot with her pastries, earning her the heart and admiration of her much younger boss.

Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace). Its hard to be a genius in the Joseon era but when you can cook and heal like Jang Geum, who was known in history as the first female Royal Physician, that's the definition of girl power right there.

Tae Woong (Snow Queen). Who can forget this tortured Math genius who carried the weight of his friend's death with him and led him to a life as an amateur boxer? Hyun Bin carried off the role with an equal balance of charm and emotion that made the character jump out of the screen touch the viewers' heart.

Seo Jung Hoo (Healer). Ji Chang Wook plays the role of a "messenger" who completes special missions for a fee. He is good in fighting, highly intelligent and quick on his feet with the main goal of purchasing his own island. His plans hit a snag when he falls in love with newbie journalist Chae Young Shin (Park Min Young), who unknown to him, shares a special connection to his past.

Baek In Ho (Cheese in the Trap). Baek In Ho (Seo Kang Joon) may be a supporting character in Cheese in the Trap but his journey is certainly interesting. A piano virtuoso who damaged his hand and lost his way, and attempted to remaster the instrument and go the extra mile - who won't root for such a character?

Runner Up:

Do Bong Soon (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon). This charmer, played by Park Bo Young is slowly winning the hearts of viewers with her weekly antics. Her exceptional strength lands her a job as the bodyguard of a happy go lucky CEO and its interesting to see her discover the purpose of her abilities as the story unfolds.
