It seems like yesterday when the drama of the century had its first episode. In February of 2016 'Descendants of the Sun' had its first episode air on KBS, and quickly became a massive hit. The beloved Song-Song couple, Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye Kyo, were as popular as the show if not more so. Even a year after the last episode aired, the couple are still the talk of many tabloids and gossip columns.

To celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the show, both Joong-ki and Hye Kyo got together to commemorate a show that undoubtedly changed the history of Korean entertainment. Hye Kyo documented this festive moment on her Instagram, showing fans a collage of photos from the get together. The photos show Joong-ki, as well as former staff of the show, posing for fun photos and celebrating with a cake. The black and white filter gives the photos a very bittersweet feeling to anyone who loved the show and its cast. The caption reads:

"Thank you for the 1st anniversary of Descendants of the Sun"

It was also another special time for the crew of the show, for Joong-ki was also celebrating a win at the 29th Korea Producer Awards for his character in 'Descendants of the Sun'. The show and all involved are still receiving love even a year after the last episode aired.
