Ninth on Nine: INFINITE Celebrate 9 Years with Heartfelt Messages

On the ninth of June 2010, the K-pop music scene witnessed the birth of INFINITE, a new boy group that would later captivate the hearts of the genre's aficionados even beyond South Korea. Formed by Woolim Entertainment, Sungkyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Sungyeol, L, and Sungjong (with ex-member Hoya) took center stage with "Come Back Again," the lead track off their debut mini-album, "Invasion."

Nine years since their first musical showcase, the gents have transformed from being rookies to the powerhouse and versatile K-pop stars admired for their top-notch performances, sharp dance routines, A-list sense of style, and adorable personalities.

On June 9 this year, the group showered their loyal fans with heartfelt messages in remembrance of their ninth debut anniversary.

On Instagram, Sungyeol posted a photo of the group and thanked their followers in the caption, saying "Thank you, as always, to Inspirit, who have been with us until now. I love you. It would be nice to enjoy this day together. Let's stay healthy until the day we can all be together again! Stay healthy!"

Woohyun kept it short and sweet on the other hand, sharing a group photo with the accompanying words, "9 years!!! INFINITE is forever. Thank you for the past 9 years."

Meanwhile, Sungjong took a charming selfie and captioned it, "Congratulations to Inspirit on 9 years. As always, thank you and I love you."

L, or Kim Myungsoo, gave a special shout out to the group during his acceptance speech at the recently held 2019 Asia Model Awards.

Members who are currently serving the military also sent handwritten letters to celebrate INFINITE's nine-year milestone. The messages were posted on the act's official Twitter page with the caption: "The members in the army have sent us their thoughts, but unfortunately Dongwoo's letter has not yet arrived. Their bodies may be apart from us, but don't forget that our hearts are always together."

In his letter, Sungyeol thanked their fans and promised to "return healthy from [his] military service to make even better memories with all of [them]." Bearing the same sentiments, Sungkyu added that the group and their fans should "keep going forward together."

Sungkyu enlisted in May 2018, Sungyeol in March this year followed by Dong Woo in April.

INFINITE is the K-pop group behind the smash hits "The Chaser," "BTD," and "Be Mine," among many others.
