We're about to see a new persona of Surprise member Seo Kang Joon in the forthcoming TV series "Watcher." Stills of the new drama featured the actor clad in a policeman uniform, and his brand new charisma undeniable and instantly captured our hearts!

"Watcher" narrates the story of a team of people against corruption within the police force. Han Suk Kyu's character witnesses firsthand unjust in the field, while Kang Joon is a policeman who sees a murder incident. Actress Kim Hyun Joo, on the other hand, portrays the role of a lawyer who sees a lie.

This will mark as a first for Kang Joon to be the lead role in a crime thriller series. His supporters are presently ecstatic about his portrayal in this upcoming drama after seeing the new stills and a 30-second trailer that surfaced just recently.

In the teaser, the 5urprise member is seemingly giving a hint of what his character will be like. He's featured sitting on the bus and listening to music until he gawks sharply while the caption says, "Who watches the watchers?"

According to Kang Joon, his character is "someone who is unpredictable. He is very relatable and has a lot of flaws, but he has a sharp appearance. He has many different charms."

Moreover, the production staff gave their two cents about the actor's portrayal.

"He's an actor who gets very much in character. He brings out Kim Young Goon's complex internal feelings as well as committing his body to the physical action scenes."

The drama is helmed by Ahn Gil Ho, the same director who directed "Memories of Alhambra" and "Secret Forest," and is written by the "Good Wife" writer Han Sang Woon.

Meanwhile, Kang Joon received a warm welcome from his Filipino fans during a recent fan-meeting in Manila. As a matter of fact, his previous sci-fi series "Are You Human?" is currently airing in one of the country's broadcasting network giant, GMA.

During his event's media conference, he said, "I just landed in the Philippines a moment ago but my impressions were [that] everyone's so beautiful in the Philippines and very friendly."

The actor also shared details about his character in the sci-fi drama.

"I have two roles in this show. It has a sci-fi element, has a little bit of rom-com, also very political. But mostly, I think, I just want the Filipino fans to be able to relate to the character because it has a lot of human aspects," he said.

"Are You Human" premiered in the Philippines on May 27.
