Sunmi Drops another Teaser Photo for Upcoming Comeback

Sunmi continues to excite fans for her new single with one more teaser image.

Sunmi's first teaser photo for "LALALAY" was shared on August 7 through her official Twitter account, featuring a butterfly, and revealing the time and date of her comeback: "2019.08.27 6 p.m." Ten days after, the artist uncovered more information about her upcoming return this month. She dropped an additional image, and wrote: "Do you want to be a Lalalay?" In the picture, it says that Sunmi is the one who wrote the lyrics, as well as co-composed the song alongside Frants. In addition, it presents five wigs hanging from a rope with flowers as the background.

On August 18, Sunmi teased the fans with another photo, displaying the lower part of a girl wearing a skirt and a pair of heels, and moving a step forward. "LALALAY" is derived from a Korean term that means "delinquent," which can also be translated as "fly." Sunmi used the butterfly in her teasers to symbolize flight and freedom. Moreover, it is said that all her teasers represent Sunmi's persona and independent attitude, and her new challenge.

Written by Sunmi herself, "LALALAY" was created and inspired by her first world tour in Mexico called "WARNING." This marks as Sunmi's next comeback for this year, 2019, following her latest track titled "Noir," which was released on March 4.

Sunmi is a solo artist known for unique colors and matchless concepts in each of her released tracks. Also, she displayed the figure of a "global K-Pop queen" by successfully having concerts for her "WARNING" world tour, performing in 18 cities across North America, Adia, and Europe within four months, which kicked off from February 2019.

Furthermore, Sunmi has been continually impressing the public with her previous singles such as "Gashina," "Heroine," "Siren," and "Noir." Thus, her fans are highly anticipating her another self-composed track "LALALAY," which could become her fifth mega-hit. Sunmi's "LALALAY" will be released on August 27 at 6 p.m. KST. And the fan showcase for this new song will be held on the same day at 8 p.m., at Yes24 Livehall, Gwangjang Ward, Gwangjin District in Seoul.
