Natty Addresses Moniker 'Little Lee Hyori'

On May 1, the Korean media outlet News1 held an interview with the female idol as part of their "Idols Who Crossed the Waters" corner.

In this segment, foreign K-pop idols tell their joys and worries about coming to the unfamiliar land of Korea with dreams of experiencing success.

Coming from Thailand at a very young age, Natty went to Korea alone, learning their culture and language with just the dream of being a K-pop idol.

Twelve years after enduring numerous failures and difficulties, she finally established her career as a member of the "5th-gen leader" group KISS OF LIFE, and has been making waves in the music scene with their bops, "Nobody Knows" and "Midas Touch."

Natty as a solo artist also cemented her name with "Sugarcoat," and her fame is being compared to Lee Hyori, potentially the next "It Girl" of the 5th generation.

Thus, when asked about her feelings of earning the nickname, she replied:

"Wow, I am so honored. Because I'm a huge fan of Lee Hyori-sunbaenim, I never imagined that such a thing would come out. But now, through 'Sugarcoat,' for the first time, fans would say, 'I remember the same vibe of 'Anycall,' and 'Isn't she the Little Lee Hyori now?"

Natty then expressed her affection for the "1st-gen It Girl," adding:

"I felt sorry for my senior, and I thought that maybe I would get another chance to see her, so I did a simulation to see what we would talk about if we met alone. I think it's an honorable title because she's such a great senior and someone I like so much."

Natty Discusses Sudden Disappearance After Failing 2 Idol Audition Programs

Prior to becoming KISS OF LIFE, Natty was initially known for joining two audition shows that created current popular girl groups including TWICE and fromis_9.

Initially, she joined JYP Entertainment's "SIXTEEN" but failed to debut due to her young age. When she got more mature, she tried joining "Idol School," and while she got massive support, she was eliminated before the finale.

Following that, Natty decided to debut as a soloist in 2020, but after a few releases, she shocked her fans after suddenly vanishing from the K-pop scene for about half a year.

 Here, Natty recalled the time and said:

"After going through two auditions and experiencing failure, there was a time when I thought I needed to take a break, perhaps because I am also a human.

At that time, when I was in my 9th year as a trainee, I thought, ‘I need to take a break,’ and for the first time, I took 6 months off. After resting for 6 months, I thought, ‘I can’t do this. I have to quickly go back to Korea and do this.’ I thought I was so tired, and I felt like I could run well again after resting. That's how I started preparing for KISS OF LIFE."
