HyunA Dishes on First Date With Ex-HIGHLIGHT Yong Junhyung

On April 18, 2024, the latest episode of the web show "Jo Hyun Ah's Thursday Night" was uploaded to YouTube. There, soloist HyunA made a guest appearance and dished about her current relationship.

When asked by Jo Hyun Ah about the difference in how her boyfriend first perceived her compared to her true self, HyunA confirmed that there was a major difference. She stated, "Yes, he initially thought I was sly."

She then recalled their first date, saying that his perception of her changed then. HyunA stated, "That perception changed after we shared a meal of seonji hangover soup on our first date."

The idol then revealed she shed tears during their first date together! The reason why? A romantic drama.

She stated, "We watched the drama 'My Love from the Star' together, and while we were watching, I cried." The idol then expressed her fondness for such intimate moments; she added, "I truly enjoy these small, endearing experiences."

Hyuna and Yong Junhyung's Controversial Relationship

Back on January 18, 2024, HyunA and Yong Junhyung shocked the internet by sharing a photo of them holding hands on the beach. In HyunA's post, she included an emoji of a couple and asked fans in the comment to support them and their relationship. Soon, both sides confirmed that they were dating.

Upon announcing their relationship, HyunA faced massive backlash. This is because in 2018, it was revealed that Yong Jun Hyun received videos from actor Jung Joon Young of an illegally taken explicit video. In a now-deleted statement, he stated he "participated in inappropriate conversations" about said videos. As a result, he left HIGHLIGHT and took a break from activities.

Due to HyunA's reputation as a feminist with girl anthem songs, many were understandably upset that she would date someone who participated in such acts. However, HyunA has not commented on the negativity. Her label, At AREA, stated they would take legal action against malicious comments against the artist.
