John Travolta Gay Rumors Remain Unaddressed As Actor Says Robert De Niro Is His Acting Inspiration; ‘Killing Season’ Star Poses With Wife Kelly Preston During Scientology Event

John Travolta gay rumors remained to be unaddressed as the 60-year-old actor credited Robert de Niro for being an inspiration. Meanwhile, the "Killing Season" star and wife Kelly Preston put up a brave front during the Scientology event.

The actor's latest sit-down with HuffingtonPost did not really touch on the John Travolta gay rumors and instead he talked a lot about working with Robert de Niro in the "Killing Season" where he plays a Serbian soldier, Emil Kovac.

"I have a soft spot for Robert De Niro because when I was starting out in movies, he was the challenge to live up to; meaning he was setting new criteria for acting. He was raising the bar for all of us young actors and that means if you were going to play a role, you had to really learn how to do the thing you were doing," he said.

With his seminal roles in "Raging Bull" and "Taxi Driver," Robert de Niro brought "method acting" to the fore which requires the actor to really immerse himself in the role, even the most extreme of physical transformation.

Meanwhile, the "Grease" star posed with wife Kelly Preston at Tinsel Town for the Scientology event amid the latest John Travolta gay rumors.

John Travolta looked quite immaculate with his all-black suit while Kelly Preston was dressed in a black dress with silver accents and a pair of stilettos.

The event came just a few days after new John Travolta gay rumors surfaced, according to MSN's Entertainment Fix, when his alleged lover Doug Gotterba revealed details about their alleged affair.

The website quoted the 62-year-old Doug Gotterba as saying that his affair with the actor started when he applied for a job in 1981.

"Doug said of his first experience with the Saturday Night Fever star, who allegedly seduced the pilot after interviewing him for a job in 1981," the site said.

The next day, John Travolta allegedly told him that he enjoyed their tryst to which the pilot replied, "so did I."

According to The Hollywood Gossip, quoting Doug Gotterba, "John was gentle, but very passionate."
