‘NCIS’ Season 12 Cast Mark Harmon Attributes Show’s Success To Solid Fan Base; Agent Gibbs Bags No. 2 Spot In Forbes’ 2014 List Of TV’s Top Earning Actors

"NCIS" season 12 cast Mark Harmon gave credit to fans for the CBS series' good showing, as the man known as Agent Gibbs has landed at second place on Forbes' 2014 list of TV's Top Earning Actors.

In an article by UK's York Press, "NCIS" season 12 cast Mark Harmon said that the success of the show is largely attributed to the loyal fans.

He realized just how big the show has become when he watches himself on TV speaking another language, but it's an experience that needs some time to get used to.

"It's pretty remarkable, I don't know if actors ever really get accustomed to other people in other languages being the voice," he said. "I struggled with Spanish, so to see myself speaking in German and doing it well is pretty interesting for me."

"NCIS" season 12 cast Mark Harmon also said that the weekly case is not what draws the attention of the audience, but rather due to the "character and humor" of the show.

Meanwhile, Mark Harmon is tied with Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half Men") at second place for Forbes' 2014 list of TV's Top Earning Actors as Agent Gibbs pulled in $19 million.

"No book or endorsement deals here: Harmon's $19 million - (up $4 million from last year) -- comes from 'NCIS' and syndication revenues. The California-native has a spinoff of the popular CBS series currently in the works, which he will star in and produce," the article said.

The Forbes' 2014 list of TV's top earning actors is paced by Ashton Kutcher who netted $26 million from the windfall of the "Two and a Half Men" as well as endorsements from Lenovo and Nikon Coolpix. The other actors on the list are Kevin Spacey for "House of Cards," Neil Patrick Harris in "How I Met Your Mother," Jim Parsons for "The Big Bang Theory," and Jon Hamm for "Mad Men."
