Lindsay Lohan’s Lawsuit Against Grand Theft Auto Mere Publicity? Video Game Makers Demand ‘Mean Girls’ Star To Pay Legal Fees

The Lindsay Lohan lawsuit against Grand Theft Auto is mere publicity in order to generate attention for the star, so says the video game maker, who now demands that the "Mean Girls" star should pay the legal fees.

According to the report by the Associated Press, as published by Mashable, the developer of the game, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and Rockstar Games, described Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit against Grand Theft Auto as ridiculous.

They claimed that the actress filed the suit "for publicity purposes." For this reason, the makers of the game petitioned the court to dismiss the case and order Lindsay Lohan to shoulder their legal fees.

Lindsay Lohan sued the game makers for supposedly creating a character, Lacey Jonas, after her likeness. The 28-year-old also claimed that the video game character not only resembles her physically but also her voice as well as her own brushes with the law.

But Take-Two claimed in its court petition that as far as likeness goes, Lindsay Lohan's only resemblance to the character is that they are both blonde.

The Grand Theft Auto V, which breached the $1 billion mark in just three days after it was launched, can allegedly offer publicity potential that could boost her fledging career, even if limited among the gaming community.

One report points to one mission where the character will have to take a video in clandestine of a celebrity in a "compromising situation." The hotel where the character was supposed to film the celebrity looked like the Chateau Marmont hotel in W. Hollywood.

In July 2012, the Chateau Marmont wrote Lindsay Lohan a letter demanding that she settler her account amounting to $46,350, said MailOnline.

Lawyers of the actress, who is set to make her West End debut for "Speed-The-Plow," has not yet issued an statement in relation to the Lindsay Lohan lawsuit against the Grand Theft Auto.
