‘Sherlock’ Benedict Cumberbatch Girlfriend 2014: Dating A Brunette? Spotted With Arms Around Mystery Woman Twice In One Week!

"Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch and his new girlfriend may have been spotted on dates twice in one week! Is Benedict Cumberbatch's girlfriend a brunette, instead of a blonde, as previously reported?

According to The Mirror, "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch was spotted out in London with his new girlfriend twice this week, "enjoying a play at the National Theatre and checking out a screening of Back To The Future at London's latest fad Secret Cinema."

However, the woman he had his arms around was not a blonde, like the mystery woman we previously speculated was his new lady love. Instead, photos show a slim brunette in the embrace of Sherlock Holmes (see photo above)!

As we previously reported, Benedict Cumberbatch was photographed in Los Angeles dining with pals after the San Diego Comic-Con. The 38-year-old actor was then joined by a young female and accompanied him for the ride home. Many suggested that the blonde lady in a white lace dress was his girlfriend, but now we know this may not be the case.

According to Cumberbatch's sister, his previous relationships never worked out because his girlfriends couldn't keep up with him. Following his 2012 break up with fashion designer Anna Jones, Cumberbatch's sister, Tracy Peacock-Tabernacle, told the UK's The Sun, "You have to be a pretty smart cookie to keep up with him. I think that is possibly why he has trouble with girlfriends. He is such a lot like Sherlock- he is quick thing like him, but not harsh. He's incredibly well read. In comparison to some he is quite an intellectual," Peacock said.

"One of his regrets is that he hasn't found someone to settle down with," Peacock added. "I they think would have to be someone not in the acting profession. Someone who was happy to hold the fort while he went off and pursued his career," she said.

A source previously confirmed to ShowBizSpy that Benedict's new girlfriend isn't in the entertainment industry.

"He's been seeing the lady in question for the past few months. She isn't in the public eye, and has quite a serious career, so is keen to remain anonymous for as long as possible," the source said.
