Paris Jackson Was Bullied At School, Had Trouble Fitting In Before Suicide Attempt [VIDEO]

Paris Jackson's depression and suicide attempt may have been due, in part, to bullying.

More details are slowly emerging about the incident this week in which Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson's 15-year-old daughter, was hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt.

While Paris Jackson is "physically fine," other clues are painting a picture of a troubled teenager who has a hard time fitting in-and, perhaps, trouble with the legacy her father left.

An anonymous source said that Paris has been a target for bullies and has difficulties connecting to others, and that she "hasn't been very happy" at school. The source said, "She has been complaining recently about feeling bullied at school."

"She does not have very many true friends there, and she doesn't feel like she really fits in there," the source claimed.

Paris was rushed to the hospital around 1:30 AM Wednesday in Los Angeles for a possible suicide attempt via an overdose with cuts on her wrists. She posted strange Tweets hours before, hinting she was distressed.

Reports of the incident vary. TMZ said that she took "a large number of Motrin pills" and cut herself with a "meat cleaver," "called a suicide hotline", and left a "suicide note"

People.com, on the other hand, said Jackson "cut her wrists with a kitchen knife and took as many as 20 ibuprofen tablets."

Regardless of the details of the incident, sources close to the family suggest that it may have something to do with her intelligence and creativity -which can also statistically lead to depression.

"She's very creatively minded and felt like an outsider. She hasn't been feeling very happy there at all."

An attorney said that she was "physically fine" and is getting "appropriate medical attention."

LaToya Jackson spoke about her niece to press, saying that they are trying to provide her with support and band together. She asked for privacy.

"We are grateful and appreciate the overwhelming concern for Paris from both the public and the media," LaToya Jackson said in a statement, "but request privacy at this time while our family handles these issues together."
