Pokemon X And Y Update: Anime Series To Debut In October And The European Championship

Loyal Pokemon fans know that Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are set to be released in October worldwide, but now they can anticipate the animated series to accompany the 3DS games as well.

According to Gameranx, the news became known at the 32nd Prize Fair in Japan, where an advertisement indicated an October premiere (most likely only for Japan), though details are scarce about the upcoming 18th season of the anime series beyond that.

The October premiere will follow the current season, roughly titled "Pocket Monsters: Best Wishes! Season 2: Decolora Adventure" when translated from Japanese. The U.S. has yet to catch up with Japan's broadcast schedule, as it is still finishing up the previous season's episodes.

Since Pokemon X and Pokemon Y is planned to have a simultaneous worldwide release, will U.S. fans have to wait for the accompanying cartoon?

In July, the 16th Pokemon movie "ExtremeSpeed Genesect: Mewtwo Awakens" will be released featuring the next generation of Pokemon, including a new evolution of Eevee and a new form of Mewtwo. Only time will tell if the movie have any continuity to the anime series to follow.
