Charice Pempengco 2013: Lesbian Glee Star Will Be Touring Indonesia And Germany, Working On Third Studio Album

Charice Pempengco was all over the headlines Monday after she admitted she’s a lesbian at a Filipino talk show.

But the “Glee” star isn't letting the drama of her coming out slow her down.

She will be having shows in Indonesia and Germany this year and will be returning to Los Angeles and Japan for some recording commitments, according to Filipino blog Interkasyon.

Charice is also working on her third studio album in the Philippines. She said that it will mostly contain covers of songs to reflect this challenging period of her young life.

Last Sunday, an emotional Charice was teary-eyed after she ended months of speculation by going public about being gay.

The MailOnline reports that the ex-Glee singer has followed the likes of former co-stars Chris Colfer and Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto by being transparent about their sexuality.

The 21-year-old singer made the revelation during an interview on Sunday with Boy Abunda, who hosts the Filipino showbiz show The Buzz.

After Abunda asks her about the rumors surrounding her sexuality, she replied in her native language Tagalog, “Yes, I am a lesbian.”

The world-renowned singer was overwhelmed by emotion during the interview and broke down in tears as she appeared to be relieved but emotional.

She said, “Now I feel free. I can go out of the house without fear and be certain that I’m not stepping on anybody’s toes.”

Speculation on the singer’s sexuality has been rampant in recent months after she transformed from a singer with an ultra-feminine image to one with a very tomboy look.

These days Charice has replaced her girlie image with a short boy hair cut and a much more androgynous style of clothing.

The Filipino singer and breakout star was billed as “the most talented girl in the world’ by talk show host Oprah Winfrey. She was originally discovered on South Korean talent show Star King back in 2007.

Her profile grew further when she appeared on the Ellen De Generes Show before she released her debut album in the Philippines.

Her recurring role in the second season of Glee cemented her career in the States.
