Netflix Debuts 'Orange Is The New Black' Trailer: All Episodes To Be Released July 11 As Competition With Amazon Heats Up For Original Programming [VIDEO]

Netflix has much to celebrate with the buzz around "Arrested Development" and "House of Cards," and the company is ready to debut its next potential hit series with "Orange is the New Black" created by Jenji Kohan.

In a trailer released on Netflix's Youtube channel today, we catch a glimpse of the prison dramedy based on Piper Kerman's memoir of the same name. The 13-episode season will be released in bulk on July 11, much like their recent revival of "Arrested Development."

Kohan, also the creator of Showtime's long-running series "Weeds," discussed the collaboration process with Netflix with Bloomberg Businessweek.

"I pitched to them while I was still doing 'Weeds'. They bought the series off the pitch. They said, 'OK, let's make 13 of those,'" mused the 43-year-old mother-of-three.

"That never happens."

On the topic of Amazon and Netflix competing to release original content, Kohan saw the shift as a reason to "celebrate" regardless of who gets where first.

"Everyone in the business knows what they're up to, even if the world at large still needs to catch up. I'm from the creative side of Hollywood. I'm up for anyone that wants to support my work," said Kohan.

"If you have eyeballs and give me a budget and are nice to me, I'm in."

On April 19, Amazon Studios streamed 14 new pilots for its customers, after which they could vote on which shows should continue to make more episodes.

The list includes the television remake of "Zombieland," "Betas" starring Ed Begley Jr., and "Alpha House" featuring John Goodman.
