Child Star Hayden Panettiere Credits ‘Great People’ In Her Life For Why She Didn’t Pull An Amanda Bynes

In an interview on BBC's "Breakfast" on Thursday morning, Hayden Panettiere opened up on how she was able to avoid the same fate as fellow child stars Amanda Bynes and Lindsey Lohan, who are in and out of trouble with the law.

The 23-year-old credited her family and friends for helping her keep her life on track, omg! Yahoo reports. "As long as you have people who are willing to tell you the truth and who are not afraid to tell you the truth, and who are there to yank you back when you need it and give you a reality check, it makes a world of difference," the actress said.

Growing up under the public eye was not easy, Panettiere admits.

"Being a young female growing up in this industry is really tough. And I grew up in the generation of the wild child ... I was guilty by association. So everyone sits there, and they wait for you to fall off your horse," Hayden said.

The actress also said she was offered drugs and alcohol from a young age. She attributed her success as a child star to the support from those who pulled her away from negative influences.

"I'm no better than anybody else, and those same doors were opened to me, and they're very easy to walk through ... drugs, alcohol, you know, being in inappropriate places that you shouldn't be at a certain age. And it's a very tough position to be in, but I had great people to pull me back from it," she said.

But don't think Hayden doesn't have any fun.

At the Graham Norton Show last night, Hayden dirty danced with Pharrell Williams during the performance of the song "Blurred Lines," The Sun reports. She was wearing leather pants, red boots, and a white halter top.

Hayden stars in the TV series "Nashville," which is about the lives of two country singers.
