Disneyland 2013 Update: Will Christian Barnes Spend 6 Years In Jail? Pre-Trial Hearing Today For Arrested Employee [VIDEO]

Disneyland 2013 Update: Disneyland employee Christian Barnes, who has been arrested for setting off dry-ice explosions last week, will be attending his pre-trial hearing in court today. Barnes is facing the felony charge of possessing a destructive device in public and may spend up to 6 years in prison.

Disneyland employee Christian Barnes allegedly placed two water bottles filled with dry ice into the trashcans located in the area of Toontown in Disneyland last week. The dry-ice water bottles exploded, and caused a scare among visitors of Disneyland.

The Disneyland explosions did not cause any significant injuries, but Christian Barnes was arrested on the scene. Christian Barnes, who is 22 years old, worked as an outdoor vendor at Disneyland.

The Toontown area of Disneyland was quickly evacuated, and several visitors who were at the theme park during the Disneyland explosions complained about ringing in their ears caused by the explosions.

The arrested Disneyland employee has already pleaded not guilty to the charges in court last Thursday. Barnes' grandmother supported her grandson's not-guilty plea and said, "He's the nicest person I know. He's a wonderful kid. He's a kid who wouldn't hurt anyone."

Barnes has also been "cooperating with investigators and has indicated this is an isolated incident with unanticipated impacts," according to Anaheim Police Sergeant Bob Dunn.

The Disneyland explosion incident as well as a recent Disneyland price hike have caused Disneyland's popularity to dip slightly. A Saudi Prince has also reportedly spent tens of millions of dollars on a Disneyland world tour before the Disneyland explosion occurred.

If Christian Barnes is indeed found guilty of the Disneyland explosions, it is very likely that he will spend six years in prison as a consequence.

So far, Christian Barnes' motive in setting off the dry-ice explosions is still unknown.
