Walking Dead Actress Arrested in Ricin Letter Case

Texas actress, Shannon Richardson, 35,  who has had minor roles on such TV series as "The Vampire Diaries and "The Walking Dead", was arrested on Friday for mailing ricin tainted letters to both the Mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, as well as President Barack Obama last month.

The three letters were mailed from Shreveport, Louisiana, last month, according to federal authorities. A spokesman said that the FBI found "very low concentrations" of ricin on the letters. FBI agents wearing hazmat suits were seen entering and exiting of her house Wednesday in New Boston, about 150 miles northeast of Dallas near the Oklahoma and Arkansas borders.

Richardson, who is also known by the names Shannon Rogers and Shannon Guess, initially told FBI that her husband, Nathaniel Richardson, sent the ricin-laced letters, but after taking a polygraph exam the results found her to be "deceptive" on the matter, court papers said.

Thursday Richardson admitted to investigators that she had mailed the tainted letters, but claimed that her husband typed them and forced her to print and mail them, an affidavit said.

Richardson's husband denied involvement claiming his wife wanted to end their marriage and leave him, the affidavit said. He also told investigators that his wife was "intentionally misleading" them, court papers read.

A law enforcement official told CNN that investigators have a feeling Richardson sent the letters herself.

"She was angry at her husband," the official said.
