'The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug' To Premiere Trailer With 'Man Of Steel', First Poster Promises December 13 Return

With "Man of Steel" set to hit theaters June 14, moviegoers have another reason to get excited for the date with the recent announcement that "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" will premiere its full trailer before the Superman movie.

Prior to the full trailer, a teaser trailer will be released online Tuesday, June 11 at 10 am PST, according to the official movie website.

According to Slash Film, Warner Bros will use their biggest movie of the year to promote their other big hitter set to land in December.

The film series feature Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and his gang of 13 dwarves attempt to defeat the dragon Smaug.

In addition, the first poster for "The Desolation of Smaug" has landed, which reportedly echoes "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy's second film, "The Two Towers." You can see the poster above, featuring Freeman's character.

The film will hit theaters December 13, but be sure to get a first glance at the full trailer when you catch "Man of Steel" in theaters this week!
