Falling Skies Season 3 Premiere: Noah Wyle Admits Cast Is Disposable, Says ‘Being A Mason Is The Closest You Can Come To Having Job Security On This Show’

It's never good to get too attached to television show actors because you never know when they'll leave.

The third season of TNT's science fiction action drama "Falling Skies" premiered on Sunday night, but headlining actor Noah Wyle admitted that viewers shouldn't get too comfortable with the cast, saying "being a Mason is the closest you can come to having job security on this show."

In an interview with the New York Daily News, where he discussed the show's third season premiere, Wyle mentioned that Steven Spielberg's hit show has an evolving cast where anything can happen to any character.

Wyle also discussed the removal of Dylan Authors, who played the 13-year-old Jimmy Boland on the show, and his sudden, unexpected death after an alien impaled him.

"We debated a long time about Jimmy," Wyle told the New York Daily News. "In the end, we decided to do it, because it showed that anything can happen at any time."

While Wyle mentioned that several characters on the show might not be around for too long, there will also be new faces on the show who will keep viewers entertained.

This season will include Wyle's old "ER" colleague Gloria Reuben as well as Robert Sean Leonard from "House" and Doug Jones from "Hellboy" as an alien, the New York Daily News reports.

"Falling Skies," which is based on post-apocalyptic Boston, was created by Robert Rodat and produced by Steven Spielberg. The show's first season premiered in June 2011 and is currently in its third season.
