Neil Patrick Harris in Hot Water Over Opening Medley During the 2013 Tony Awards, Denies N-Word Comment [VIDEO]

Actor Neil Patrick Harris has landed himself in hot water after hosting the 2013 Tony Awards on June 9. The actor opened the show by bringing legendary boxer Mike Tyson out on stage and allegedly dropping the N-word right in Tyson's face, or at least that is the way it sounded to many people.

Tyson appeared during Harris' opening medley, emerging from behind a group of cheerleaders to dance with the show's host and make visual jokes about ear biting which Tyson is so infamously known for.

The former heavyweight champion wasn't merely making a cameo appearance like he did in the Hangover movies. The boxer starred in his own one-man Broadway show last spring,
During the medley, Harris was singing a song where he repeated the lyric, "we're going bigger", but very shortly after Tyson came out it sounds as if Harris may have sang a lyric that some say sounds a lot like the n-word.

Harris sang, "in tandem like we planned 'em, forgive me if it's random but Mike Tyson had a one man show let's give the man a hand."

Then right after is where the discrepancy over lyrics comes in. Harris continued, "And make things bigger, like bigger, I'm here with Iron Mike Tyson he's a heavyweight yo, we're going bigger, is I his n***a'"

If it was said, Tyson seemed oblivious to the use of the word as he smiled and danced alongside the seasoned performer.

A representative for the star said, "Neil absolutely and unequivocally DID NOT use derogatory language in the opening number of the Tony Awards."

At 8:55 AM Harris took to the social media site Twitter to further personally deny saying the offensive slur.

"I would NEVER be so disrespectful," he wrote.
