PS4 Price Is Cheaper Than Rival Console, Xbox One: Sony’s PlayStation 4 Release Date Is During The Holidays

Sony PS4 price is lower by a hundred bucks than Microsoft's Xbox One.

The most important details about the next generation consoles are out. Sony PS4 price is set to $400 while the competing game console of Microsoft, the Xbox One comes in a heftier price tag of $500. Xbox One's release date is on November while Sony announces that the PlayStation 4 release date will be some time during the holiday season. Perfect gifts, isn't it?

Aside from the cheaper PS4 price which is an advantage for Sony, the PlayStation 4 does not have any restrictions at all. While it can be a disadvantage for Microsoft to require Kinect, a reason for the higher pricing, too.

Sony PS4 is entirely usable while offline and it also support reusing of old games that are bought on disc, unlike the used game restriction policy of the Xbox One. Without any restrictions at all for used games, this allows the PS4 users to sell or lend their old games to friends.

With the lower PS4 price alone announced at the end of the E3 2013 Sony's press conference, it seems that analysts and commentators and people from social media are immediately gearing towards the Sony PlayStation 4. Microsoft may have to do some rethinking of their Xbox One price if they want to have a successful launch.

Aside from the PS4 price, various keynote Sony PS4 specs are also revealed during the E3 2013 press conference. The game console will be sporting a closely similar look to Xbox One having sharp edges and angles as well as flat sides.

Both Sony PS4 and Microsoft Xbox One will run on an AMD's CPU, specifically, the x86 octa-core processor. The Sony PS4 will be using a x86-64 'Jaguar CPU' while Xbox One will run using a modified 8-core processor. The graphic processors for both Sony and Microsoft's gaming console are of AMD As well and they will use a GPU integrated CPU with a system-on-a-chip type of design. Another PS4 specs is that it will be using an 8GB GDDR4 RAM beating Microsoft with its 8GB RAM DDR3.
