Erin Brockovich Mugshot UPDATE, DUI Apology Issued: Blames 'Out In The Sun And Nothing To Eat'

UPDATE: Erin Brockovich's DUI mugshot was released...and it's really, really not pretty. She also issued an apology.

Erin Brockovich's recent DUI arrest was technically a Boating Under the Influence, but apparently, the law doesn't differentiate between land and water-based vehicles. Brockovich was arrested in Lake Mead, near Las Vegas, NV. A Nevada Department of Wildlife game warden spotted her "struggling to dock her boat". Whoops.

While we can't expect the real-life Erin Brockovich to look like Julia Roberts, she looks seriously rough in the mugshot. Brockovich looks sunburned and regretful. Guilt is kinda pouring from her eyes. And/or tears.

This mega-guilt was implied in the apology Brockovich released, which claims heat-and-no-food impairment and says she "knows better".

"At no time was the boat away from the dock and there was no public safety risk," Brockovich said in a statement on Sunday, June 9. "That being said, I take drunk driving very seriously, this was clearly a big mistake, I know better and I am very sorry."

She continued, "After a day in the sun and with nothing to eat it appears that a couple of drinks had a greater impact than I had realized."

Erin Brockovich, 52, is an environmental activist and legal advocate. Julia Roberts famously portrayed her in a 2000 film called, well, "Erin Brockovich."

It's probably hard to go anywhere if you're named Erin Brockovich, by the way.

This doozy of a mugshot was taken after "She was not sure how to maneuver the boat into the dock," as Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesman Edwin Lyngar said to the Associated Press. "It's a simple thing if you can think clearly. But if you add alcohol and unfamiliarity of the area, it can all cause serious problems."

Brockovich posted $1,000 bail and was released.
