E3 Update: 'The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD' And 'A Link Between Worlds' Reenergize Franchise

With E3 fully underway and more than a few surprises, Nintendo has revealed details on two upcoming Legend of Zelda titles with "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD" and "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds."

The HD remake of the GameCube classic for the Wii U, "Wind Waker HD" is set for a September release in Japan and October release for North America.

According to IGN, the updated title will have new features inaddition to enhanced 1080p graphics, such as "fast travel" when you are on your boat.

In addition, the Tingle Tuner, which involved connecting the Game Boy Advance to the GameCube in the original, will make a return. Players will be able to leave messages for other players through the Miiverse.

Not only that, the direct sequel to "A Link to the Past" made an appearance with a gameplay trailer at E3, titled "The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds."

Originally titled "A Link to the Past 2," the 3DS game features many of the same sound effects and areas from the original title, reports The Verge.

There is, however, a new ability for Link to become a 2D wall painting to access certain areas of the game.

As of now, no release date has been given for the 3DS title.
