'So You Think You Can Dance' Season 10 Episode 6 Recap: Vegas Week Brings Tears, Injuries, And Celebrity Judges

"So You Think You Can Dance" continues its tenth season to Las Vegas, where the dancers who made it past the initial city auditions are tested to the limit and reduced to the top 20.

Day 1

Adam Shankman, Mary Murphy, season four finalist Twitch, Nigel Lythgoe, and singer Jason Derulo (?) made up the panel on day one. The singers are immediately brought up to do solos and, if they pass, a poolside celebration. Unfortunately for 53 dancers, they will have to unpack their luggage elsewhere, including salsa dancer Katlyn Rodriguez, exorcist Hampton Williams' wife, and Shane Garcia.

Day 2

The dancers' first round is the traditional hip-hop by Tabitha and Napoleon. The dancers are brought in groups and pairs. Animator Jade is the first to impress the judges with his character. Mongolian bowl dancer Shan Shan shocked the judges with her rendition, and burst into tears after passing the round.

77 dancers and counting.

Second round is Sonya Tayeh's jazz routine. After what looks like an exhausting session, Sonya asks the dancers to practice overnight and perform for her the next morning. Malece, an early favorite after her solo, injures herself due to her partner Armen's negligence.

Day 3

Day three starts with a new guest judge Hannah Simone ("New Girl"). Nigel makes sure to express his disappointment that the dancers needed extra time before the dancers perform in pairs. Fik-Shun, the local hip-hop artist, passes with flying colors.

Sydney, Jade's partner for the round, asks to switch partners, angering Sonya to no end. Despite the friction, the pair show up and Sydney passes while Jade has to dance for his life. Malece returns from the hospital to dance with Armen, with no problems on either end except for a stern lecture from Mary at Armen's behavior.

Nine dancers are cut at the end of the round, including Shan Shan.

68 and counting.

At 2:00pm, "So You Think You Can Dance" alums Chellsie and Dmitry teach the dancers a ballroom routine, where ballroom specialist Jenna understandably shines. Sydney is sent home along with a few other casualties.

The group number is next, and the dancers placed into groups and a random selection of music to come up with their own choreography through another all-nighter.

Day 4

The first group drew inspiration from the Boston bombing tragedy, and proceeded to melt the judges to tears. All through. Second group, not so much, and two dancers are let go. The rest of the groups, much better!

The final group is not so lucky, with two dancers gone after a messy club-like dance number.

54 dancers and counting.

Next is contemporary, the usual place where less technically proficient dancers are cut. Stacey Stookie comes to choreograph, and sure enough, a string of dancers are sent home until only 33 are left.

Who do you think will be in the top 20?
