iOS 7 Beta Download Released; New ‘Activation Lock’ Feature Of Apple’s Latest iOS Strengthens Security And Prevents Jailbreaking

Apple has recently released the iOS 7 beta download for developers and iPhone users. Also, the iOS 7 'Activation Lock' feature promises tighter security as well as a greater battle against Apple's problem with iOS jailbreakers.

The iOS 7 was officially unveiled during the WWDC 2013 event  on Monday at San Francisco. Afterwards, Apple released the iOS 7 beta download, giving opportunity for owners of iPhone 4, 4s and 5, as well as iPod touch 5th generation users to experience the latest mobile software from Apple while it is still in testing stage. Take note, the iOS 7 beta download made available by the iPhone maker is just the first of the many beta iOS 7 versions that will come until the release of the final version.

A particular iOS 7 release date has not yet been announced, but it is already expected to be available during the fall season. While this may entail some more months of waiting for the excited iPhone users, the iOS 7 beta download is now available especially for the members of Apple's developer programs, who are paying $99 for the annual fee.

But for non-members, there is still a way to install the beta version of the iOS 7 to your iPhone and iPod touch devices by using third parties and paying at most $10. Because it is only the iOS 7 beta download, users should be prepared for bugs and performance issues that may emerge.

Aside from revealing the list of exciting iOS 7 features such as iTunes radio, new tools and filters for the camera and file sharing feature through AirDrop, there is another impressive feature that makes users of Apple mobile devices more excited with the iOS 7 --the 'Activation Lock.'

The latest weapon against iPhone theft was announced by Apple through a security feature they added to iOS 7 called the Activation Lock. It prevents a thief from bypassing the lock screen pass code because even after wiping the handset, it will still require the owner's Apple ID and password for the phone to be used again.

With the Activation Lock feature activated, the surging number of iPhone thieves may finally start decreasing, but so might the number of iOS jail breakers.

Adrian Kingsley-Hughes from CNET wrote, "Apple has a duty to do everything in its power to thwart jail breakers at every opportunity."
