Penn Badgley And Zoe Kravitz Split After 2 Years; Couple Ends On "Good Terms" Mimicking Previous Split From Blake Lively[VIDEO]

Penn Badgley and Zoe Kravitz have split after nearly two years together.  Penn, the former "Gossip Girl" actor, 26, and Zoe, daughter of Lenny Kravitz, 24, shared a New York City apartment together but have split to focus on their careers for right now.

A source close to Penn Badgley said,"It just wasn't working. It really did end on good terms, though."

"They are at two different stages in their careers," a friend of Zoe Kravitz said. "They just didn't have time for each other."

Penn and Zoe started dating in 2011. The pair of actors are said to have split up due to conflicting careers and filming schedules.

The pair were once very much in love. Penn once said he'd written a song for Zoe, referring to it as "a sprawling meditation on love," and revealed they deal with being apart from each other when traveling for work by being honest.

"There's definitely no secret. I'd say honesty is always the best policy," Penn said. "There are always a lot of arguments--but even if honesty starts some, it avoids bigger ones."

Penn Badgely is getting a real reputation in Hollywood for being a good breaker upper! Before his split with Zoe Kravitz, Penn dated Blake Lively for years.

Blake and Penn lived out their real life Gossip Girl romance for three whole years before calling it quits. Imagine having to go to work and act out a passionate make out scene with your ex. Um, awkward!

But despite the uncomfortable situation of breaking up and still having to see each other every day, they've never bashed one another. In fact, when asked how he felt about Blake's recent surprise marriage to Ryan Reynolds, Penn said he was genuinely happy for her!

When asked if it was difficult to work with Blake after her wedding, Penn said, "No we were ultimately professional."

As for what he learned from their relationship, Penn said, "I don't know if I can distill it into a sentence, or even articulate it."

"We were very much caught up in the show, which itself was a six-year endurance test. Our relationship was a part of that and helped us through it. I mean, like anything valuable, it was good and it was bad and it was a learning experience."
