The redesigned software will be out this fall, reports Stern, and will be available for the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. The ABC writer notes five of the best features that will dramatically transform your iPhone and iPad experience.

DESIGN

The new look and feel of the software loses its textures, patterned backgrounds and notepad-looking Notes app. Instead, it now has a cleaner design with lots of white spaces and brighter colors.

Stern’s analogy notes that in this case, though the house may have gotten a new shade of paint and all new furniture, the layout is still familiar. The look of iOS 7 still shows the grid of icons, pull down notification tray and more.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Airplane mode toggles and you can adjusts the brightness and volume. Apple’s new built-in flashlight is now accessible from the control center and it can control music. It’s a small update that leads to big savings of time scrolling from one app to the other.

MULTITASKING

In the new iOS 7, you get a new interface when you switch from one app to other. While working on one app, you can see what’s happening on the other – thanks to a card on the main screen that’ll be open. You can tap to switch it or swipe it up to close it.

SIRI

Siri sounds less robotic and now has a better voice and a better brain. Farewell to the strictly female voice, as Siri now has male and female voice options. The voice will also be faster in answering questions.

The feature can also now draw results from Bing, Wikipedia and Twitter. Siri will also find its way to cars in 2014.

CAMERA AND PHOTOS

The new iOS 7 has tons of cameras and photo features. The camera app has a brand new interface and taking cues from Hipstamatic and Instagram, now also have filters. According to Stern, the new iPhone camera is like having Instagram in your phone without the sharing.

Through AirDrop, a new feature for in the iOS 7, users can easily select friends and share photos wirelessly. Eliminating the single album look available from mobile uploads, where you need to scroll endlessly, iOS will now organize your images base on date and location.

The new software will be out this fall and rumors swirl that by then Apple will be releasing the highly-rumored iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 at around the same time.
