E3 2013 Sony & Microsoft Press Conference Live Coverage: PS4 Price Announced To Be $100 Cheaper Than Xbox One, Release Date By Thanksgiving

E3 2013 Sony and Microsoft Press Conference Live Coverage: PS4 price was announced to be $100 cheaper than Xbox One price, and the PS4 release date and Xbox One release date were both revealed to be around Thanksgiving of this year at the E3 2013 Sony and Microsoft press conference.

E3 2013 Sony and Microsoft press conference addressed PS4 and Xbox One rumors regarding the new consoles' price and release date. Sony and Microsoft will be going head-to-head coming this November, as both companies announced at the E3 2013 to release the next generation of game consoles soon.

Sony's PS4 price was announced to be $100 less than the Xbox One price, as the PS4 will be sold at $399, while the Xbox One price is $499. Sony's PS4 release date is on November 21, 2013, while Microsoft's Xbox One release date is also in November. Both game consoles will be out for sale by Thanksgiving in 2013.

The PS4 and Xbox One price difference may go a long way, as "for those sitting on the fence, $100 goes really far," said Lewis Ward, who is the research manager for gaming at IDC.

According to Ward, "Historical precedence suggests that the average console fan isn't willing to shell out a lot more money for a product, even one they think is great. That amount of money is essentially two games for free."

Sony also announced that the new Playstation 4 will be able to support used games, as there will be no restrictions on how previously played games could be shared or resold. Microsoft's Xbox One, on the other hand, will be requiring players to be constantly connected to the Internet in order to trade games with other users.

Sony's announcements at the E3 2013 press conference may have been due to the fact that customers have been complaining about the company's poor performance in the past few months, and USA Today says that the company is currently in "survival mode."
