Super Smash Bros. 4 Release Date For Nintendo Wii U And 3DS Set On 2014; No Tekken or Pac-Man Characters To Join The Next-Gen Game

Super Smash Bros. 4 release date is not yet specified but it will come to Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS at some point in 2014.

During the E3 2013, it was revealed in the trailer that Mega Man will be part of the Super Smash Bros. 4, together with Village from Animal Crossing. Super Smash Bros. 4 release date is set on 2014, however, no specific date is revealed yet.

After the hype about Mega Man joining the hit game Super Smash Bros, fans speculated about other potential characters to their way to be part of the Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U and Nintendo 3DS version.

According to IGN, fans were particularly interested if certain Namco Bandai characters such as those from Tekken, Tales RPG series or Pac-Man will be the top priorities to include in the game, but the series creator, Masahiro Sakurai, said it is a no, based on his interview from IGN's Richard George.

Two of the Smash Bros. games are developed by a team of Namco developers, thus the speculations about Namco Bandai characters being part of the game ignited. However, Sakurai said, "Just because the game is being cooperatively developed with Namco Bandai involved, that doesn't at all mean that they'd be given any special consideration for having characters in the game. Smash Bros. can still be considered as an all-star collection of Nintendo characters. Just like with Mega Man or any other third-party character, it would have to be a very special situation."

The report from IGN also said, "Sakurai noted that Mega Man himself was a very special arrangement - that bringing in non-Nintendo characters can be quite the challenge."
