NFL New Bag Policy May Cause Frenzy In 2013 As Women Can't Carry Their Purses And Fans Can't Bring In Their Bags

The NFL new bag policy will debut next football season, but will restrict fans from bringing in their purses, backpacks and bags into all the stadiums across the league.

In order for safety purposes, the NFL new bag policy will help protect nearly 100,000 spectators who come to watch their respective teams play professional football on Sundays.

This NFL new bag policy will not allow women to bring what a lot of women normally carry on them inside a stadium or everywhere else they go; a purse.

According to the NFL, this is what the fans will be allowed to carry inside the stadium: "Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12." (Official NFL team logo clear plastic tote bags are available through club merchandise outlets or at nflshop.com), or one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the stadium with one of the clear plastic bag options. An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose."

Fans can purchase clear bags that they can use inside the stadium. The NFL also noted that for the NFL new bag policy, fans can place their bags with security and be able to pick the bags back up when they leave.

"Our fans deserve to be in a safe and secure environment,"Jeffrey Miller, NFL vice president and chief security officer on the league's new "All Clear" site told Yahoo. "Public safety is our top priority. This will make the job of checking items much more efficient and effective. We will be able to deliver a better and quicker experience at the gates and also provide a safer environment. We appreciate our fans' cooperation."

With the Boston Marathon bombings in April that killed three and injured more than 260 people, protection at sporting events has become a priority and this is a measure that the NFL is taking for the safety of the players and fans in attendance.
