Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date, Price, Spec Update: Phablet To Be Released ‘Latter Half Of The Year’ According To Samsung Official, Rumors

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be the follow-up for the hugely popular Galaxy Note 2 phablet and will most probably have a 3Q 2013 release, according to sources of Know Your Mobile.

A an alleged Samsung official said that it will launch the Galaxy Note 3 in the "latter half of the year.”

It is important to note that the Galaxy Note 2 emerged at the IFA 2012, according to the mobile industry-focused blog, which takes place every September. The idea of the phablet’s release at the “latter half of the year” falls neatly within previous release schedules.

Rumors that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will arrive mid-June seem to be invalid now that we’re entering the latter half of the summer month.

Samsung has continually been on the up since the Galaxy Note has proven to be one of its more popular brands, making the launch of Note 3 a much awaited event for the Samsung community.

There have been no concrete leaks or speculations on the price of the tablet, but Know Your Mobile said that it will probably be more expensive than the Note 2, especially since the screen is much larger.

The blog estimates ballpark of £620, or almost $1,000, could be a possible pricing – which makes it very expensive for a smartphone that’s almost the size of a tablet, but still marketed as a phone.

The pricing took into the account the price change between the 5-inch Galaxy Note and 5.5 inch Galaxy Note 2.

A Korean website reported that aside from the 6-inch screen of the phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have a flexible, plastic display. It will be thinner and more shock absorbent than the glass screens used on other Samsung displays, ensuring that if the device is dropped the screen will bend and won’t smashed.

The Note 3 is also predicted to be lighter than previous models because of its thinness.

It is almost certain that this Samsung phablet will have a faster processor, higher resolution screen and probably more S Pen applications, noted Know Your Mobile.

A 2GHz processor for this upcoming device is not impossible. It may also have an Exynos 5 Octa eight-core chip, which is already present in Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S4 flagship model.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could potentially launch with Samsung Orb, the company’s version of Google Photo Sphere.
