Katy Perry John Mayer Dating Again As Perry Admits 'I still am madly in love with him'

The Katy Perry John Mayer dating carousel appeared to have stopped spinning earlier this year when the couple split, but in a revealing interview with Vogue Magazine, she claims to "still" be "madly in love with him."

Perry is making her first appearance on the fashion mag, and she spent some time talking about her ex-husband, Russell Brand and her current beau (or is he), John Mayer.

About Brand, whom she was married to for fourteen months between 2010-2011, Perry says:

"He's a very smart man, a magical man and I was in love with him when I married him. Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."

Brand was more than a little salubrious during a February appearance on Howard Stern where he refused to discuss Katy Perry's lady parts in an effort to drum up free media for a business venture he's started.

Perry, for her part, continued and offer a glimpse as to why the two divorced citing "irreconciable differences" on December 30, 2011.

"I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road.

"I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but when they get that equal they're like, 'I can't handle it.'"

But it was Katy's sounding off on her on-again, off-again, and now on-again relationship with rock singer, John Mayer, which has gotten most of the attention since the interview went live.

Perry said of Mayer, "It's over, I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."

But Katy Perry and John Mayer may not be broken up anymore.

Sources told E! News earlier this month that the pair are "back on," and "keeping it casual," which is a sly nod to hooking up, but not being exclusive.

As one of the sources explained, they're " just hanging out," but "they are not putting a label on it."

Mayer was on Ellen a few weeks back refusing to talk about his relationship with Perry, but he did say "coupling is a tricky thing."

So Katy Perry is still "madly in love" with John Mayer, and even though they're just "keeping things casual" when someone is madly in love that has a tendency to ratchet up the casual factor and head into a deeply committed relationship.

Only time will tell, but Katy Perry and John Mayer are back together again, even if they're keeping mum on the whole thing.
