Miley Cyrus Voted Worst Celebrity Role Model, 58% Of Parents Say Celebrities Are Poor Role Models

In a recent poll, parents voted Miley Cyrus as the worst female celebrity role model for children, and Chris Brown as the worst male role model.

Ironically, this year Miley topped Maxim's Hot 100 list.

CouponCodes4u.com asked 2,407 parents around the country to vote which stars had the most negative influence on their children, The NY Daily News reports.

Cyrus, 19, came out on top with 68% of parents' votes. Chris Brown, 24, was voted her male counterpart in the survey, with 71%.

Here are the top ten worst female celebrity role models, in order: Lindsey Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Amanda Bynes, Farrah Abraham, Rihanna, Ke$ha, Kourtney Kardashian, Heidi Montag and Taylor Momsen.

For the boys: Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Charlie Sheen, Lance Armstrong, Tiger Woods, Mel Gibson, Jay-Z and Bruce Jenner.

However, 58% of parents surveyed believed that celebrities in general should not be role models for their kids, NY Daily News reports.

"As a celebrity, it must be difficult for people all over the world to not only know who you are but also watch your every move," Mark Pearson, chairman of CouponCodes4u.com, said in a release. "The trouble is, many younger Americans currently look at certain celebrities as their personal idols, which must worry some parents."

Why did the parents dislike these celebrities so much?

According to The Huffington Post, the majority of parents cited the female celebrities' inability to make positive life choices, while others said the stars had "no actual talent" or felt they were being "oversexualized" in the media.

As for the males, the majority cited the celebrities' "arrogance," lack of fidelity and their questionable talent as reasons for their disdain.
