Miley Cyrus Liam Hemsworth Engagement Back On As Duo Takes In a Movie; Liam Helping After Miley's Parents Divorce [Video]

The Miley Cyrus Liam Hemsworth back-and-forth about their still murky wedding plans took a turn for the positive earlier this week when the two were spotted publicly together for the first time since January.

The duo were assaulted by paparazzi as they both went to see a movie at Arclight Cinemas in Los Angeles on Monday, but their appearance might help assuage any grief fans might have had about their rumor-filled engagement.

They appear OK, and when Miley was spotted with Liam by her side, he was actually protecting her from the scrum of media trying to snap photos.

They can be seen embracing heading in and out of the theater, and yes Miley is wearing the 3.5 carat engagement ring that has made some mysterious disappearances during their more turbulent relationship moments.

But Liam has been by Miley's side, HollywoodLife reports, in an effort to help Miley deal with her parents' just-announced divorce.

Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus have recently called it quits on their 19-year marriage, and Miley is dealing with their marriage's dissolution with Mr. Hemsworth by her side.

Sources say, "She's [Miley] taking it as well as she can. No one wants their parents to end a marriage. Billy Ray and Tish are awesome people and even better parents. Miley’s sad, of course, but that’s between her parents. There’s not much she can do.”

The source added that "For sure, [Liam's supporting her]. She’s upset, yes, but she’s an adult and will be fine. She loves both her parents and they will always be in her life."

Miley has been in the news for another matter, too, recently: cannabis.

In an interview with Rolling Stone for their July issue of the magazine, the 20-year-old "We Can't Stop" singer told them she believes marijuana is safer than alcohol.

"I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves," Cyrus says.

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana – people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care. I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

Cyrus adds, "As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Maybe she'll smoke some ganja with Liam Hemsworth to get over the pain of her parent's divorcing. Puff puff pass Miley, puff puff pass.
