Breakdown Of LeBron James's Game 6 Stats With And Without Headband

LeBron James lost his signature headband in the middle of the fourth quarter, when the Miami Heat was trailing behind the San Antonio Spurs in Game 6 of the NBA Finals on Tuesday. What happened next caused Twitter to erupt with comments from fans.

LeBron made a huge block on Tim Duncan, and finished at the other end with a dunk in traffic to tie the game, later leading to the Miami Heat winning Game 6, 103-100 in overtime.

Below are LeBron's stats before and after he took off his headband, via Sportingnews.com:

With headband: 36 minutes, 20 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals, 0 blocks, 2 turnovers

Without headband: 14 minutes, 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 4 turnovers.

In total, LeBron ended the game with 32 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds.

According to CBS DC, LeBron wears the headbands to keep sweat out of his eyes, out of habit, and possibly to hide his receding hairline, which many enjoy pointing out.

A replacement headband was waiting for James underneath the basket. Though in previous games James would stop mid-play to put the accessory back on his head, he was preoccupied with the game.

"I don't even remember the play much," James said. "I was just focused on the job, the task at hand, and just trying to be aggressive, just trying to figure out ways I could help the team get back into the game. And you know, I guess the headband was the least of my worries at that point."

Twitter exploded with fans joking about the loss of his headband, saying he should never put it on again in order to win Game 7, and that he was unrecognizable without it.

Twitter user @TasMelas said: "LeBron wanted the lob, but no one recognizes him without his headband."
