‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Gets Director Sam Taylor-Johnson: Husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson Cast As Christian Grey?

"Fifty Shades Of Grey" the movie gets a director. Sam Taylor-Johnson has been confirmed to direct the movie adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey," Deadline Hollywood reports.

Taylor-Johnson is the last major player to be confirmed for the film adaptation of the book, originally written by EL James. She made her debut as a director with 2009's "Nowhere Boy," which chronicles the early life of John Lennon.

Kelly Marcel has written the "Fifty Shades of Grey" script about the relationship between college student Anastasia Steele and 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey.

Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca are reportedly producing the film, with the help of author James.

"Sam's unique ability to gracefully showcase complex relationships dealing with love, emotion and sexual chemistry make her the ideal director to bring Christian and Anastasia's relationship to life," De Luca said of the confirmed director. "EL James' characters and vivid storytelling require a director who is willing to take risks and push the envelope where needed, and Sam is a natural fit."

What has fans more anxious, though, is who will be the 'natural fit' for the roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

Sam Taylor-Johnson is the wife of Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who starred in "Nowhere Boy" with the director. Some have suggested that Aaron is a likely contender for the role of Christian, Hypable reports.

Aaron is a likely candidate, as he is an attractive actor around the right age for the character, and he has worked under the direction of his wife before.

Universal Pictures, who owns the distribution rights to the upcoming film, has expressed hope to release "Fifty Shades" in the summer of 2014. But, as time has passed since the "Grey" series hit its peak, the books' popularity has been waning. Now that the director, screenwriter, and producers have been confirmed, casting is expected to move quickly.

"Fifty Shades Of Grey" has been translated into 45 languages worldwide since its release and has sold over 70 million copies, according to Deadline.
