TWICE Nayeon's Body Praised by Fans After Idol Suffered Fat-Shaming: 'She's Insanely Gorgeous'
After TWICE Nayeon's participation in the 2024 Waterbomb event, the idol suffered fat shaming, which her fans immediately refuted by admiring her physique.
Challenging herself as a soloist, Nayeon recently stood on the 2024 Waterbomb stage alone, showing a fierce and bolder image than when she is in TWICE.
As the water-themed summer festival is not only an event to perform but show off their sexy & hot image, there is a high expectation of how will the female idol impress spectators.
During the event then, Nayeon appeared in a one-shoulder crop top and mini denim shorts, showing off her healthy figure.
However, Korean netizens, who had a high body standard weren't impressed by this and claimed that her outfit didn't compliment her body type. They also insisted that she gained weight and that she should have done some exercises and self-management prior to the event.
While Koreans blamed her for her lack of effort to achieve a wannabe body, international ONCEs (fandom) who saw such comments criticized K-netz for their malicious feedback.
They stated how absurd their body standard is, and mocked them for fat-shaming Nayeon when they are most likely struggling to achieve such a figure as well.
On X, ONCEs and even non-TWICE supporters then tried to erase the negativity surrounding Nayeon's physique and commended her instead for promoting healthy living and body.
In K-pop, female idols are deemed sexy when they have ant-waist, small shoulders, thin legs, etc. However, TWICE including Nayeon are known for flaunting their physiques that don't conform with these standards, reminding their fans that there are various body types and they are fine with having any of them.
Also, web commenters want K-netz to review their meaning of "fat," and remind them that it is not a crime to be one.
On the other hand, Nayeon, the center and vocalist of TWICE has been promoting as a soloist in the past month, with the release of her new album, "NA," including the title track, "ABCD" on June 14.
Upon its release, it drew much love from both local and international music charts.
With this album, she created a new history by becoming the only K-pop female soloist to have 2 consecutive albums enter the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard's main album chart, Billboard 200" along with her debut album, "IM NAYEON" released in 2022.
In addition to this, "NA" also recorded 43,000 album sales and 4,000 SEA unit sales, which is the figure converting the number of streams into album sales, for a total of 47,000 (based on Luminate statistics). In particular, it became the best-selling album in the United States for a week and topped the "Top Album Sales" chart.
