Paula Abdul Returning To So You Think You Can Dance, While American Idol Juggles Kelly Clarkson, Elton John, Toby Keith Judges Rejections

After delicately gracing "So You Think You Can Dance" earlier this week, "American Idol" judges alum Paula Abdul confirmed she will be returning to season 10 later on.

"I am coming back on the semi-finals and the finale," announced Abdul during an Extra interview following the taping.

But when asked whether she will become a regular fixture as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance," the "American Idol" alum gave a "Cold Hearted" response.

"I don't ever consider anything when I'm asked these hypothetical questions because truly it's in the moment," continued Abdul.

"I had a really wonderful time and was really honored to be a part of a show that has such amazing dancers and pays great tribute to them."

Meanwhile, her former job at "American Idol" seems to be up for grabs, but no one seems to want to take the judging panel as new judges.

Elton John was such one person, who exclaimed that "it's become boring...paralyzingly brain crippling."

"I like Simon Cowell, but what he does is TV entertainment. There have been some good acts, but the only way to sustain a career is to pay your dues in small, s--- clubs."

Another person who passed up the judges gig was season one winner Kelly Clarkson, who was a name that surrounded rumors of former contestants becoming the new judges.

"The one thing I did do was 'Duets' on TV, and that was because I got to be a part of the process," she said.

"I'm not really good at telling people how to do something. I'm better at showing them. So, yeah, that really wouldn't be my forte."

Toby Keith also turned down the show, who was the country judge pick before Keith Urban.

"I know three weeks in that I'd be going, 'I can't believe I did this. I am so mad at myself. I knew better.' And so, instead of even thinking about it or letting somebody down, [I allowed] them to move on and get who they want. Let's just move on, and I just turned it down quick."
