Scottie Pippen Broke: Sued After Basketball Player ‘Spat In An Intoxicated Fan’s Face And Knocked Him Out’ Causing Head Injury, NBA Star Now In $4M Lawsuit‬

Scottie Pippen, who was reportedly broke according to several news outlets two years ago, is being sued by a fan for $4 million after the former Chicago Bulls player allegedly spat in his face and knocked him out.

The punch left the autograph-seeking fan hospitalized with a head injury. According to the DailyMail, the $4 million lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court documents that the 49-year-old plaintiff Camran Shafighi has asked for a picture with the NBA star for his girlfriend’s 12-year-old son.

What the autograph seeker got was a “brutal and unjustified physical attack” that included spit in the face, a shove, and a punch that sent Shafighi to the ground, reported the DailyMail.

“At not time did or could Mr. Shafighi physically provoke or fight back, as he was knocked unsconscious with the first blow,” the lawsuit against Pippen says.

According to Sheriff officials who are still investigating the incident, Pippen voluntarily came into a station to be questioned and was cooperative. The former basketball player was not arrested and no charges have been filed.

Investigators narrated the story at the time saying that on June 23, Scottie Pippen and his family was dining with his family at Nobu, a restaurant on the beach in Malibu famous with celebrities.

Camran Shafighi was taking pictures of the player inside the restaurant and then outside in the parking lot, he was doing so while he was intoxicated according to several witnesses.

An argument between the player and the fan ensued, which led to violence, investigators said.

The fan was taken to a hospital with a head injury and was treated and released.

There were reports that Scottie Pippen is considering a counter claim against Camran Shafighi, intending to sue the autograph-seeker for assault and making a false police report.

The 47-year-old basketball star won six NBA titles with Michael Jordan and the Bulls, and in 1996, was named one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players, the DailyMail reports. In 2010, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
