iPad Mini 2 Release Date Pushed Back Due To Retina Display Shortage; Apple Plans Early 2014 Launch

New reports suggest that Apple was forced to set iPad Mini 2 release date at a later date, allegedly to early 2014.

Earlier iPad Mini 2 release date rumors claimed that the launch of Apple's smaller tablet will be delayed because the Cupertino-based tech firm is not decided yet whether to include Retina Display to the device. But now, another new report just swirled in supporting earlier claims that iPad Mini 2 release date will be postponed, but this time, for a different reason, though it also has something to do with the highly-talked about Retina display.

So why the delay of iPad Mini 2 release date, then? Well, according to a report by BGR citing Taiwanese news site, Economic Daily News, the shortage supply for the Retina Display panel is the main cause of the alleged late arrival of the iPad Mini 2. (This means that Apple has finally made up its mind to include a Retina iPad Mini 2.)The original plan is actually to set iPad Mini 2 release date during the 4th quarter of the year, but reportedly, its market launch date was changed and now slated to first quarter of 2014.

Economic Daily News also stated that aside from a Retina iPad Mini 2 release, it is also claimed that Apple is producing a non-Retina iPad Mini 2, together with the high-res tablet to be made available for a lower price. Even if the news claims that Apple might be offering a Retina and non-Retina iPad Mini, the differentiation of the features and the pricing of the two models are still unclear. There are previous reports, however, indicative that the next-gen iPad Mini 2 will be equipped with a Retina display with a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution, an 8mp rear camera, iOS 7, and a dual-core A6X processor.

Nevertheless, even if there is a myriad of rumors continuously flooding the stream,  bear in mind that all these reports about the iPad Mini 2 release date are still unofficial and should be taken with a grain of salt. Apple will definitely share something soon, so to fans and enthusiasts, let's try to have the patience of a saint.
