iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 Release Date: Walmart Slashes Prices Of Current iPhones, A Hint That New Models Are Coming Soon?

The release dates for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 may really be coming soon as retail giant Walmart slashes the price of the current models on sale.

The Arkansas-based company is offering iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S at very cheap prices, enabling consumers to pocket the most recent iPhone for just above a hundred dollars.

The massive sale is being read as a simple business strategy of exhausting old stock before the arrival of the new versions. What makes the hint that new models maybe coming soon more solid is the fact that Apple does not allow retailers to fix prices of its products. And the iPhone manufacturer did not oppose the move by the retail giant.

Mobile carrier, T-mobile has also slashed the price of its iPhones. The company is offerring a $50 discount on the iPhone 5 variant with a two-year contract.

It should be recalled that prior to pending launches of new iPhones, the old ones begin to start selling at cheap rates. The move by the retailer and the US carrier seems to note this trend, hinting the release of new models.

Walmart could soon be selling the iPhone 5 for a $100 or less when the new generation phones are launched. In a bid to grab a profit of $30-40 dollars for every 5 and 4S in their old stock, the current sale is being offered now.

The new iPhone variant is expected to have a host of features that will will enable it compete with its current rivals.

The next iPhone is rumored to have a retina or IGZO screen display, A7 quad core chip processor, iOS 7, 128GB internal storage, 13 mega-pixel camera and a longer battery life. To overcome consumer worries and combat iPhone theft, the new iPhones may also have fingerprint technology for access.

As rumors on the release date of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 heightens, it is very possible that the current iPhone 5 model could be sold at a $100 or less.
