Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Update: New Tablet With LTE Connectivity, Android Jelly Bean Now Available In Canada

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8, with LTE connectivity and Android Jelly Bean is now available in Canada, according to MobileSyrup.com The 8-inch tablet is available via Rogers, Bell and TELUS and is seemingly positioned to compete with the highly rumored iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 expected to come out this fall.

Samsung tablets are the main competitors for the iPad variants of Apple and with the launch of Note 8, it has inched its way in competing for the market captured by iPad Mini. Most of the features of this newcomer are similar to that of Samsung Galaxy Note II, but its main attraction has been the S-pen software and state of the art TouchWiz features.

The Voice call feature is successfully incorporated in this tablet to make it more viable for consumers who need to have both the features of a tablet and a smart phone together. The LTE connectivity supports both 2G and 3G/4G network.

The new tablet has display specs of 8 inches 16 M color TFT capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 800 X 1280 pixels. As mentioned earlier, there is an S-pen software that works with the Android 4.1.1 Jellybean operating system.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a 1.6 GHZ Quad Core ARM Cortex A 9 processor with Exynos 4412 Quad chipset. It has twin cameras with the main one having 5 Mega Pixels with auto-focus, touch-focus, face detection, best-face feature and image stabilization. The front camera is loaded with 1.3 mega pixels and supports video calls. The Note 8 supports video recording with a full HD video recording feature of 30 frames per second.

The storage options for the tablet could either be 16 or 32 GB internal memory. The SD card slot supports cards up to 64 GB. Connectivity and ports for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB.
