iPad Mini 2 Release Date Rumors: Apple’s 2nd-Gen Mini Tablet With Retina Display Arriving in 2014; Slightly Improved Model Coming Before 2013 Ends

Because of supply shortage for Retina Display panel, there are reports stating that the iPad Mini 2 release date is pushed back to early 2014. But a slightly updated model for the iPad Mini will come before the end of 2013.

The iPad Mini 2 that will be released will sport a completely refreshed design, removing the bezels and equipping the tablet with Retina Display, as reported by Christian Post, citing Digitimes Report. The post reads, "Apple is reportedly aiming to use Retina panel technology equipped with 2,048 by 1,536 resolutions in the next generation 7.9-inch iPad mini."

Furthermore, the iPad Mini 2 with Retina Display will also have a redesigned chassis so that it will have a bezel-less look. Because Apple fans will have to wait for the iPad Mini 2 release date coming next year, it is reported that Cupertino-based tech firm will instead offer an improved model of the current iPad Mini later this year.

Digitimes reported, "While the new iPad mini may not be available during the year-end shopping season, Apple reportedly may first release a slightly updated version of the current iPad Mini in the second half of 2013, which is expected to be lighter, thinner and equipped with improved specifications."

Furthermore, reports said that Apple's plans for the iPad 5 have already been finalized, and it will feature a design that is close to the iPad Mini model. Accordingly, the suppliers for the production of the next-gen 9.7 inch iPad is almost finished, meaning a mass production for the device is already coming its way. The sources are now expecting that Apple will be providing its shipment estimates this July or early August.

Ardent Apple fans and enthusiasts should be alert as most definitely, new reports about iPad Mini 2 release date, as well as that of the iPad 5 will come out in the coming days or weeks.
