Diablo 3 PS4 Release Date Set For 2014: Blizzard Action RPG Not A Launch Title For Sony PlayStation 4

Diablo 3 PS4 release date is not going to be this year, contrary to initial rumors that surfaced online

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Blizzard's action role-playing video game may come out before this year ends, with reports saying it is going to be on September 6. However, for the Diablo 3 PS4 release date, Blizzard announced that the RPG game will not arrive until 2014.

Diablo Fans had a chance to interview Blizzard's team including Travis Day, Josh Mosqueira, and Wyatt Cheng who revealed information about the Diablo 3 PS4 release date. The interview revealed, "Diablo 3 will not be a launch date title for the next generation consoles. It will come in 2014."

Eurogamer posted, citing Diablo Fans, that the game developer has just acquired the development kits for the Sony Playstation 4, stating, "The Diablo 3 team has actually just received the new PS4 development kits so the translation for that platform is yet to be done."

According to the interview summary, Diablo 3 PS4 version of the game is held back because Blizzard is planning to tailor the release of the game specifically for the next-gen gaming console. The team is planning to use the features of the DualShock 4 touchpad and share button to implement greater effect within Diablo 3 game.

Diablo 3 will offer multiplayer mode, as well as provide support to offline play on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions.

However, during the interview, there was no announcement made about Microsoft's Xbox One version of Diablo 3, as all the references were made only to the next-gen console of Sony.

Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. initially revealed on February of this year that the latest entry for the award winning action role playing game series, Diablo 3, is already in the works for the Sony PlayStation 3. Aside from that, the team also confirmed that there will be a Diablo 3 PS4 release
