Benedict Cumberbatch 'Star Trek’ Star Wears Makeup In Japan? ‘The Fifth Estate’ Trailer Released Stars Actor As Wikileaks Julian Assange

Benedict Cumberbatch, star of "Star Trek: Into the Darkness," spoke at a press conference to promote the film in Tokyo on Tuesday. Was Benedict Cumberbatch wearing makeup, despite no longer being on the "Star Trek" set?

In pictures from his arrival and talk in Tokyo, it appears as though Benedict is wearing foundation on his face, and because it is not blended in very well, turned his face a strange orange color.

According to The Huffington Post, Cumberbatch received a huge warm welcome at the Narita International Airport in Chiba, Japan. Fans camped out to welcome the star of the BBC drama series "Sherlock," with homemade banners. Fans of Benedict call themselves "Cumberb******."

The Huffington Post reports that Cumberbatch has a massive following in Asia due to his popular role as detective Sherlock Holmes.

Cumberbatch, 36, was very polite and friendly to fans. He posed for pictures and talked to the local media about his new "Star Trek" film.

He wore dark jeans, black sneakers, and a slate-gray button-up over a white T-shirt at the airport. His dark, long curly hair made him appear sweet and approachable. If only the actor had blended in his makeup - or ditched it all together.

Cumberbatch is also in the news today for the release of the first trailer for his other new film "The Fifth Estate." The thriller is about the controversial Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, who Cumberbatch portrays.

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. But if you give him a mask, he will tell you the truth," Cumberbatch as Assange says in the teaser. "If we can find one moral man, one whistleblower, someone willing to expose secrets, that man can topple the most oppressive of regimes."

According to E! News, the real Assange read a copy of the screenplay of "The Fifth Estate" and called it a "massive propaganda attack."

Director Bill Condon insists it is no such thing. "What you want to try to do is try to understand him... You're trying to burrow deep into who those people are," he told The Huffington Post.
