Laurel Plane Crash [VIDEO]: 70-Yr-Old Pilot In Critical Non-Life Threatening Condition After Crashing Into A Mobile Park In Maryland

A Laurel plane crash caused a 70-year-old pilot to be in a critical, non-life-threating condition, as reported by The Examiner.

Ronald Dixon, the pilot involved in the Laurel plane crash was operating a small single-engine Beechcraft Muskateer when he navigated it too low, causing it to smash into two mobile homes in Maryland on Thursday.

The rescuers arrived and found the 70-year-old pilot outside the plane lying on the ground at the site of the Laurel plane crash.

The pilot, 'conscious and alert' at the scene of the Laurel plane crash was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. A spokesperson stated via Twitter, "We can confirm that the pilot was conscious and alert. transported 2 Shock Trauma. No injuries on the grd.,"  

The report stated that Dixon was the only one on the plane when it took off from Suburban Airport in Laurel, which later resulted to a Laurel plane crash, damaging two mobile homes.

Luckily, the residents of the affected houses in Parkway Village Trailer Park in Laurel were not at home during the crash. The 70-year old pilot is the only person injured during the Laurel plane crash, which happened on 10:15 am, July 18. The pilot survived the Laurel plane crash with non-life threatening injuries, as confirmed by the Maryland State Police.

Joe Arrington, a witness of the Laurel plane crash described the accident, "I was standing in the kitchen of my home and I heard a loud boom."

He got out immediately to check the damage and then detected the smell of the gas, so he dragged the pilot out before calling 911.

"[I] dragged him from that plane about 25 feet. I further comforted him. I told told him my name and that he was going to be alright and that 911 was on the way," he recalled.

According to the officials, Dixon was getting the plane to its new owner in York, Pennsylvania when the Laurel plane crash occurred. However, no details of the cause of the crash have been released yet.
